| It's all about Yvette Where I was born: I was born in a small military town called Junction City, Kansas on April 6th. My father was in the Army, so I guess you can say I was a "military brat." I also served in the US Air Force for 13 1/2 years. I have won several military and local bodybuilding shows. I have been stationed in California, Korea, Guam, Okinawa, Japan and Hawaii. While in the service she received an Associates Degree in Logistics Management from the University of Maryland. Where I live: My last base where I was stationed in the Air Force was on Oahu, Hawaii. When I got out of the military, I worked for the military (on Oahu), as a civilian for a couple of years and then I moved to Scottsdale, Arizona for two years and now I reside in Orlando, Florida. My Occupation: Well, I will just that I am a Legendary Muscle Diva! Hobbies/Activities/Sports I did before I started lifting weights: Growing up...I was not one to play with "dolls." I always wanted to play with my younger brother and his friends. Instead of wanting to play with girl toys like barbie dolls. I preferred to play with trucks, cars and robots. I really was an all around "tomboy." Growing up my hobbies were: drawing, dancing, roller-skating, tennis, gymnastics, track and field and reading. I participated in the 220 and 440 relay in Junior High School and was on the Tennis and Gymnastics Teams in High School. Interests: I am a true "animal lover" and I grew up with various kinds of dogs, rabbits, birds and whatever else my younger brother brought home. A favorite pastime of mine is dancing. I love dancing and I use to always want to be a dancer on the TV dance show Soul Train. I grew up listening to old school R&B but I also love Jazz, Hip Hop and Reggae. I still go partying every chance I get! I enjoy many different kinds of ethnic foods, meeting people and learning about the different cultures. I recognized that I had a talent for art and drawing in the early years when I was in the 4th grade, I began drawing cartoon characters like "Peanuts" and also drawing kids in my classroom. I started drawing and sewing clothes for my family members when I was 14 years old and after graduating High School I attended the Colorado Institute of Art for Fashion Illustration. How and when did I get involved into lifting weights? Before I took an interest in weight training over 19 years ago, I weighed 100 lbs soaking wet. I always wanted to be a fashion designer and model and I was very conscious about my weight. After seeing Carla Dunlap and Cory Everson on stage in a magazine, I set my sites on wanting to attain a sexy, muscular physique, so off to the gym I went and after lifting my first dumbbell, I was hooked on the sport of bodybuilding! Was it a goal for me to compete in bodybuilding competitions right from the beginning or was it something that grew in my mind as time went on and I saw the progress in my body? I had to intention of competing right from the beginning but as time went on and my body started to show some muscularity and definition, along with comments from people in the gym telling me that I looked great and asking me if I have ever competed before? If not that I should compete. So, I decided to go ahead and take the next step and challenge for myself and get up on stage in a bikini and show people all the hard work, dedication and discipline that I had put into my physique. :) What was my first competition and how did I place? My first bodybuilding show was held in Seoul, Korea where I was stationed in the Air Force and I competed as a lightweight weighing in at 110 lbs and I won the lightweight class and overall title. Lookout bodybuilding, here I come! I knew I was "Da Woman" then! Which contest has been the biggest success for me yet? You know, after competing in military bodybuilding shows for years and then moving to the mainland and starting to compete in the NPC National levels shows. I knew that I would have more competition which I welcomed. I have been doing NPC shows for the last couple years now and have honestly enjoyed the challenge. With that being said ... my recent placing at the NPC USA's in Vegas was a big success for me since I placed higher in this show then previous USA shows which was second in the middleweight class. Bodybuilding Shows while in the Military: After my first bodybuilding show ... the hardest task for me since aspiring to become a female bodybuilder was having to eat more food. A task that I soon learned to defeat! I was Ms. Far East for two years in a row, also taking the Best Poser award both times in Okinawa, Japan. I took second in the Women's Lightweight Division at Guam's National Bodybuilding Championship; 1st place winner in the Women's Lightweight Division and 2nd place in the Mixed Pairs Division in the 1997 Marjo Selin's Muscle Classic in Maui, Hawaii. 1997 Hawaii Armed Forces Lightweight Division and Overall Winner also Best Poser on Oahu, Hawaii. 1999 Designer Body Muscle & Physique State Championship; Women's Open Bodybuilding Division, Overall Winner; 3rd place in the Women's Middle Weight at the 1999 Paradise Cup on Oahu, Hawaii. Most recently guest posed at the 2000 Hawaii Armed Forces Bodybuilding Championship and I received a special invite to be the guest poser at the 2000 Hawaii Armed Forces Bodybuilding Championships. Please tell me something about your daily training routine: Once, I put my earplugs on and blast my music, I am in the "zone!" I am ready to pump some serious weight. I do not really go to the gym and say, "Okay today I am going to do this machine or that. I go with a specific body part that I am going to train in mind. During off season, I do alot of mass exercises, such as bench presses, t-bar rows/barbell bent-over rows, squats and barbell curls. When I am preparing to compete, I do shaping/definition exercises like more dumbbells and machines. How often do I train a week? Off-season, I train 5 days a week. Contest preparation, I train 6 days a week. Body Measurements: Height: 5'3" Chest: 40DD, Waist 21 inches, biceps, 15 1/2 inches, Quads, 26 inches, Calves 15 inches Best Lifts: Squats: 450 lbs, Bench: 250 lbs Deadlifts: 415 lbs Which is my best bodypart in my opinion? I would have to say my back! My back has always been more receptive to the weights. About three months into my weight training...people were telling me that I had a nice back. What is my favorite exercise in the gym and which one don't I like so much? I use to love and I guess I still do...barbell rows. When I first started to weight train... I did not like doing squats, now I enjoying squatting! I really do not have an exercise that I do not care for. What do I do when I am not working out: I love to read, relax, swim, layout at the pool, go to beaches, hang out with friends, going to movies/renting movies, taking long drives with the windows open just enjoying nature and listening to some smooth sounds, going dancing, working on my website and doing the many sexy and erotic photo shoots for my site, traveling, meeting and talking to my fans and my all time favorite is shopping til I drop! What are my plans for 2004/2005? I plan to continue to compete, keep striving to reach my personal and professional goals and just being thankful for God's Blessings and enjoy life!
